Options | Security
-
Clear Password When Done
When enabled, EncryptDrop clears the last used password from memory.
NOTE: When disabled, the last used password remains in memory until program is terminated or the
password is replaced. The uncleared password will also be used for the next batch.
-
Clear System Pagefile on System Shutdown
When enabled, Windows clears the system pagefile (virtual memory) on system shutdown.
NOTE: Virtual memory support uses a system pagefile to
swap pages of memory to disk when they are not
used. On a running system, this pagefile is
opened exclusively by the operating system,
and it is well protected. However, systems
that are configured to allow booting to other
operating systems might have to make sure that
the system pagefile is wiped clean when this
system shuts down. This ensures that sensitive
information from process memory that might go
into the pagefile is not available to an
unauthorized user who manages to directly
access the pagefile.
NOTE: Admin-rights required.
-
Use EraseDrop for Deleting If Available
When enabled, EncryptDrop attempts to use EraseDrop (if present and available)
for secure file erasing instead of WIN32 DeleteFile()
EraseDrop is a FREE STAND-ALONE program that can be used in
conjunction with EncryptDrop to erase data securely from
your computer.
EraseDrop is licensed under GNU General Public
License (GPL) and is an open-source project.
